HEALTH SERVICES FOR STUDENTS AT UNOMEDA CLINIC

If you are officially covered by the Lithuanian Compulsory Health Insurance (Lithuanian: Privalomasis sveikatos draudimas – PSD), you have the right to register at Unomeda and receive general practitioner (GP) services free of charge.

• EU / EEA Full-Time Students: You are eligible for state-covered health insurance for the entire duration of your official studies. To activate your status, you must possess a Temporary Residence Certificate (TRC) containing a personal identification number (asmens kodas).

• Non-EU / International Students: Non-EU citizens do not automatically qualify for state-funded health insurance. You are only eligible for free clinic registration if you are legally employed in Lithuania under an official employment contract and pay standard health insurance taxes.

Required Documents for Registration: Registration must be completed in person at the clinic reception. Please present the following documents:

1. Passport or official Identity Card.

2. Temporary Residence Certificate (TRC) or Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) containing your asmens kodas.

If you do not possess Lithuanian state insurance (PSD) or are a non-EU student who is not legally employed, you are welcome to access all Unomeda services as a private patient.

The Reimbursement Process Step-by-Step:

1. Verify Coverage: Before booking your appointment, please contact your private health insurance provider to confirm that your specific policy covers the medical services or specialist consultations you require.

2. Consultation & Payment: Book your appointment, receive medical care, and settle the payment at the clinic reception according to the standard pricing list.

3. Obtain Official Documentation: Upon payment, request an official invoice (sąskaita-faktūra) and a medical summary/extract (medicinos išrašas) from our reception staff.

4. Claim Your Refund: Submit these documents directly to your insurance company (e.g., BTA, Gjensidige, Ergo, Compensa, or any international provider) to claim a full or partial reimbursement of your expenses.

Your insurance status depends strictly on your citizenship and residency type. You can verify whether your Compulsory Health Insurance (PSD) is currently active by following these steps:

1. Visit the official National Health Insurance Fund website: dpsdr.vlk.lt

2. Select the English language option.

3. To log in, provide the following details:

   • Select your Gender.

   • Enter your Date of birth.

   • Enter the last 4 digits of your Personal Identification Number (asmens kodas, found on your TRC or TRP).

   • (Alternatively, you can use your Insured Person’s Identification Code – DIK, or ILTU code if you have been issued one).

4. Review your status:

   • „Insured”: Your PSD is active. You are eligible to register at Unomeda for free GP care.

   • „Not Insured”: Your state insurance is inactive. You will need to access services as a private patient and apply for private insurance reimbursement.

Note for EU Students: If you are a full-time student but the system indicates you are „Not Insured”, it usually implies your university has not yet finalized processing your enrollment data. Please contact your faculty dean’s office immediately to update your information in the state registry.
